A Charming Venue with Room for Improvement
The venue exudes a charming atmosphere, ideal for events. During my Christmas party, the food was hot and well-presented. I recommend arriving early for better seating. Just be prepared for limited entertainment options. A more engaging experience would elevate this place!

Lovely room (apart from the heat), the building is spectacular from both the front and the rear. There's a lake to walk round and it is very close to Nottingham Race Course. There was a wedding there at the same time as us but it didn't effect us at all and they seemed to enjoy it.
We were on the second floor and the room was unbearably hot even though it was not hot outside. We had the window wide open and two fans on all night. Might have eaten in the hotel but they only do chinese / Indian food

The staff Are very very friendly and very helpful from the day staff to the late night staff!! Food is excellent from the grorgetown restaurant to the light snacks in the champagne bar, the club sandwich and the stir fried noodles are a must for a quick snack!!! I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone who wants a romantic peaceful break, you are made to feel you are the hotels only guest during your stay ! definatly will be back

Nice big rooms, well decorated.
This hotel is a wedding/event venue only. The hotel rooms are very much an after thought. Very noisy into the late night/early morning due to lots of people at the events - no double glazing to block out the sound. No air conditioning.

This sounds cliche but all of it! It was absolutely amazing! I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the country and this building has so much history and is really been brought alive by the modern re-styling and restoration and when you see the rooms you will feel like a lord of the manor - this is the first hotel I have been to where the photos online don't do the hotel justice. We stayed in the Wordsworth room which was large, authentic and worth double the money. The staff where brilliant (i don't say that often!!) and you have to visit the restaurant!

The Georgetown Restaurant. The waiters were excellent. The menu is quite extensive and the food was good. Do try the Singapore Gin Slings we had two! Breakfast was served in this restaurant and it was excellent and cooked to order. All the hotel staff were very nice. Our bedroom was a very large also the bathroom with walk in shower and large bath. Ladies powder room on ground floor definitely worth a look it's fabulous.
The heating too hot in the bedroom bathroom and hallways. We lodged our large sash windows open with the waste paper bins otherwise it would have been unbearable. Bed wasn't very comfortable but nice bedding. Seating in the bar a bit like a waiting room but comfortable. Definitely a "function" hotel but to be fair it does say so on the web site and we were told when we booked in, we were lucky there was only a small murder mystery taking place which finished quite early and didn't bother us at all. I would have been a bit put out if the Champagne Bar had been closed to us because of a function (apparently this happens), in this event we would have taken our pre and after drinner drinks in the foyer. Good idea to check if there is a function taking place and if the Champagne Bar will be closed.

The rooms were lovely, very classic and oppulent large and comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean and spacious.
The furnishings were looking a bit tired and in need of refreshing

I had a lovely stay at Colwick Hall, where the staff made me feel right at home. The room was spacious and offered beautiful views, although I did wish for a makeup mirror. Breakfast was a highlight, with a great selection and well-prepared dishes. The peaceful atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing getaway, and I appreciated the little touches like daily tea and coffee replenishments.

Staff were great, both on reception and in the georgetown restaurant - very friendly and welcoming.. bathroom was super - but note below re: cold! Would love to come again - maybe when its warmer!
The only problem was that it was very cold! We had to have a portable heater right next to us in the restaurant for our evening meal. the bathroom was beautiful - but again very cold, and the towel rail radiator didn't seem to work. Bedroom warmed up thanks to the portable radiator.

Superb facilities, room and setting were fantastic. A little out of town, but all the better for it given the setting. Friendly and helpfull staff.

The fine Palladian frontage and well-maintained gardens provide a picturesque backdrop. Despite a wedding taking place, the standard room remained very quiet. The staff demonstrated excellent hospitality, contributing to a warm and cute atmosphere. While the room was a bit small and required climbing two flights of stairs, it was comfortable and well-equipped, complete with a fan and a spacious bathroom.
